Enjoying vicarious travels by reading this blog — have a great time everyone!
We are in Serifos — poli orea but very windy. Packed together like Greek sardines at Coralie Campsite but uncrowded beach has clear water and wonderful euculptis (sp?) trees for shade. Athena has had her first snorkelling experience
hi Kerry and Athena here! We are on our own (apart from the camping hoards) here on Serifosnow, as Chris, Jane and CAllum have moved onto Kimolos — I’m sure they will tell you all about it — sounds idyllic from Jane’s texts. We were sad to say goodbye as we so enjoyed our travels together. My plans to go onto Alonnisos to spend time with our dear friend Penny were no longer possible due to having a lot of money stolen on the Athens metro, so we decided to stay on Serifos till our plane journey back on Monday.
Big news here today is that Athena can SWIM! She has persevered heroically in the Campsite pool and really deserves her BIG MOMENT! Her Mummy is extremely proud.
Apart from that we want to tell you about wild fennel growing everywhere (smells better than it tastes says Athena) and pungent Curry plants almost knocking you over with their smell. Meltemi winds that constantly rip the tent pegs out of the sand, Niko the Gardener presenting Athena with treats and smiles every morning and evening. Athena has made friends with many of the cats of Greece, including a teeny weeny kitten she would love to take home with her!
